There are literally hundreds of thousands of species of spiders through out the world. In South Africa alone we have thousands of species, many who are considered cosmopolitan in terms of species. We can boast of a large species group of Baboon Spiders, the East Rand on its own boasts of at least 2 species, with many other species.
Many of the species Ion this page have only been identified to genus level and as a result this page will only show genus and in some instance family only.
Of course this page will display as many interesting spiders, some well known, others not so much but never ALL of the species out there. (We just have too many)
Solifuge, Camel Spider, Red Roman (Solifugae) is of course an Arachnid but not a true spider. It does not have venom glands but boasts of powerful mandibles that assist it in crushing prey.
This page will always show them right at the end of the page in order to make sure that they are not confused with spiders.
